SHABBOS PACKAGES
This is a weekly undertaking, throughout the year. Our Shabbos food packages provide nutritious, occasion-appropriate meals to poor families, allowing them to celebrate the holy day with traditional fare, while at the same time giving them the nutrition they would otherwise lack. We do our work quietly, without fanfare, so as to protect the dignity of the recipients.
Matanos L’evyonim
This vital once-a-year event is a service both to the public — who need an avenue to perform the vital mitzvah of gifts to the poor — and to the needy families who cannot themselves afford what they need. At this time of giving, some of our less fortunate brethren eagerly await assistance to celebrate the holiday with dignity.
KIMCHA D’PISCHA
Few yamim tovim strain families as much as Peach! There’s no cheap bread to fill hungry stomachs. Yad L’Chesed distributes tremendous amounts of food to our families, so that they have all they need for the holiday. Over six hundred families in Jerusalem alone, receive our Kimcha D’pischa packages of matzah, meat, fish, wine, and other traditional Pesach foods.
Chosson Support Fund
This one-time grant provides financial assistance to young couples who are about to begin their married life together, but who lack the means of setting up their new home. We help them to obtain an apartment, and to furnish it with the basic necessities. It cannot be stressed how difficult it is, for young newly-weds in these tough economic times.
